Support » Plugin: Ultimate FAQ - WordPress FAQ Plugin » Search not displaying FAQs on page load

  • We just bought this plugin and built this page:

    We wanted our search and FAQs list to look like this demo page:
    so we added this to our page (without the spaces, of course):
    [ ultimate-faq-search ]
    [ ultimate-faqs ]

    However, when someone started searching, the Ajax listed appeared between the search and the list.

    I noticed the initial markup on our page was different from the initial markup on the demo, so I dug into the plugins code and found this:

    $ReturnString .= "<div id='ufaq-ajax-results'>";
    if ($show_on_load == "Yes") {$ReturnString .= do_shortcode("[ultimate-faqs include_category='" . $include_category . "' exclude_category='" . $exclude_category . "' orderby='" . $orderby . "' order='" . $order . "' post_count='" . $post_count . "']");}
    $ReturnString .= "</div>";

    Searching above that, I see where these default values are set and extracted:

    extract( shortcode_atts( array(
            'include_category' => "",
            'exclude_category' => "",
            'show_on_load' => "No",
            'orderby' => "",
            'order' => "",
            'post_count' => -1),

    After Googling, I found a YouTube video ( that talked about “show_on_load”.

    So I removed:
    [ ultimate-faqs ]
    and changed:
    [ ultimate-faq-search ]
    [ ultimate-faq-search show_on_load="Yes" ]

    However, this still doesn’t work, and the video refers to show_on_load as a “Premium feature”.

    If I paid for this, should I be able to set this Premium feature?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello Aaron,

    That is correct. The search functionality itself is a premium feature available to use with the premium plugin. So you would be able to use it with the premium plugin.
