Search location doesn't bring up events in country

    I’ve set up events manager and added a few events, all within the United Kingdom. When I go to search for events I can find events by a more specific location, but when I just enter United Kingdom none of the events show up.

    I’m assuming that there is a pin that Google uses in the middle of the country that is where they think the UK location is, and that if the events are not within the range of that pin it shows nothing.

    Is there a workaround so that events within a broader location are shown, or at least all events are shown sorted by distance (no matter how far that distance is)?

    Is the Country explicitly set as United Kingdom in the settings for your UK locations?

    Yes, the form uses a dropdown so the events had associated locations with the country explicitly listed. I’m trying to use a different search form plugin now as I couldn’t make the custom fields show in the search despite following the tutorials!
