Search in post excerpt
-
Hi,
I want to add support to search in excerpt. I checked code and its just 4 to 5 lines to add in plugin but I cant find any suitable hook to do it. I don’t want to hack plugin.
Is there any way if I can add excerpt for search?
Thanks

Hi,
There is no GitHub repo right now. However, I will try to add this feature in next version.
Plugin has a filterwpes_posts_searchusing it you can expand the query.
Please check the example https://www.secretsofgeeks.com/2014/09/wordpress-search-tags-and-categories.html#wpes_posts_searchThanks
Well, I tried that filter which gives only query as string so need to hack it with some string replace function or with regular expression to change query string which is not good at all.
And excerpt is also used in default wordpress query but overwrite by this plugin.
I also checked its just 5 to 6 lines of code to add it so for now I hacked code.
but would be good to have it in plugin core.
Thanks 🙂
