# Search function not working

 * Hi Maeve, my KB is behind a paywall, but, briefly, the search function hasn’t
   worked for about 3 weeks (at least). Could it be related the WP upgrade for GDPR
   compliance? I’m running WordPress 4.9.7, and I noticed that we’ve lost links 
   to free pdf downloads which I’m having to recreate manually, and wondered if 
   it was a similar thing affecting the search function. Many thanks, Janet

   and using search return error 404 is it possible to get this resolved we have
   already resaved permlinks and this did nto resolve the issue

   returns a 404 meaning that no such page exists on your site. Please check that
   you have a Page created at the slug matching the settings in WP Knowledgebase.
   make sure the shortcode [wp_knowledgebase] appears on that page and the page 
   template is set to KBE. Then, go to Settings > Permalinks and resave permalinks
   structure.
