I’ll verify this. Just tried it and got the same results.
same here, but I noticed that if you put in a term that won’t bring back any results, such as a nonsense word it brings back the proper “no results” page, so the error only occurs when the search returns results.
Seems to be working now 🙂
huh. Guess I’m lucky then. Still working for me. For instance, http://wordpress.org/search/search+working?forums=1 shows me search results.
I’m having mixed results. Some searches work – most I get the parsing error.
Well… that depends on your browser… The pages have XML errors in them (an unescaped & to be precise)… IE still displays the page, but Firefox being the compliant browser that it is correctly informs us that the page is malformed.
That’s the trouble with setting the server to send XML as
Content-Type: application/xhtml+xml;
any errors completely screw the page.
The ideas site is totally fried at the moment.
Actually, it *has* been mentioned, (I posted on it myself this morning), but since my post is off hte main page, you wouldn’t see it 🙂
What you’re seeing is XML errors. (Especially if you’re using older versions of IE.) They’ve already said they know about this and are working to resolve it, but yes, the forum search isn’t working right now.

Exactly. However, you should never put content type for XML pages as anything *but* XML, because XML is not the same as XHTML and HTML. XML documents should never be served up as text/html. (There’s a debate on whether XHTML documents should be served up in that manner, as well.)
But anyway, it’s being worked on 🙂
