• Any chance you could add a checkbox to the Posts > Categories so that Posts with a given category are excluded from search?

There are plenty of ramifications here, and I’m not sure how to do it…

    • if checked for one or more of the selected categories, on save Exclude from Search gets checked for the POST
    • What happens if someone saves a POST, then goes back and un-checks it, and then saves the POST (is it checked again?)
    • What happens if someone saves a CATEGORY, then makes a POST and then goes back and un-checks ‘Exclude from Search’ for the CATEGORY, and then saves the POST (is it checked again? I would think the user would have to manually uncheck each POST)
    • IMO unchecking ‘Exclude from Search’ for a saved CATEGORY after POSTs are made would have no effect on POSTs already created
    • etc…

My preference would be that assigning a category w EXCLUDE FROM SEARCH enabled, would ALWAYS prohibit it from display in search.

Changes to CATEGORY would only affect POSTs assigned that CATEGORY going forward.

Thank for sharing this idea and your thoughts with me!
It absolutely makes sense, but as you fairly noticed it has some ramifications. I will think about this and get back to you .
