# Search Engine Problem

 * When I search for my site by name, the search engines have this to say:
 * Bing:
    We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow 
   us.
 * Google:
    A description for this result is not available because of this site’s
   robots.txt – learn more.
 * Yahoo:
    We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow
   us.
 * The robots.txt file (which can’t be found in the directory), pops up virtually
   and says I’m only disallowing my wp-admin, so it seems like robots.txt isn’t 
   the actual problem. I have unchecked the “Discourage Search Engines From Indexing
   This Site” box. What else could be causing this?
 * This question has been asked on multiple other threads before, but those have
   closed with no one ever (that I have found) resolving the issue.

 * How long ago did you uncheck the box? It can take several weeks for most search
   engines to re-index your description once you allow them to.

 * I unchecked it about an hour before I made the first post on this thread. If 
   it doesn’t straighten out I’ll update again.

 * Yep, give it a few weeks, Google should straighten it out by then. 🙂
