  • I am building a job board and I have searched many SEO techniques online but most of them are good for websites which blog. Can you suggest SEO techniques for a job board website rather than a blog website?

  • Unfortunately, this is not an SEO discussion forum, so this is definitely the wrong place to ask for SEO techniques for your job board.

From my totally non-SEO-guru mind, a page is a page is a page — shouldn’t matter if it’s a blog post, job post, business directory listing, etc. The only differentiator I can think of might be the schema or structured data markup for the specific type of page, eg JobPosting for the job listings.

But then, I’m no SEO guru; and, this is not the place for SEO technique discussion.

    My recommendations:

    1) If you’ve chosen a job board plugin already, ask the developer what SEO-specific features the plugin has, and what SEO plugin they recommend.

    2) Research the various SEO plugins, and ask their authors specific questions about what features and configurations might best serve a job board.

    3) Go to a dedicated SEO discussion forum like SEOForum, Moz community, WebmasterWorld, Warrior Forum, etc — and ask your specific questions about job board SEO techniques. These communities are filled with (self-proclaimed) SEO experts who can provide valuable insight… if you take your time to ask nicely and properly according to the particular community’s rules.

    Good luck!

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a method of inbound marketing that makes your page findable and trackable by Google, Bing and other search engines. Job descriptions that are clear, targeted and searchable attract the most relevant and qualified job seekers to apply to your open roles.
