Support » Installing WordPress » Search Engine

  • I’ve been playing around with WordPress to be used as an engine to my blog. I read somewhere that I need to install ‘something’ to make PHP more search engine friendly (especially if the content is dynamic – i.e. read of a database). Any tips or comments?

  • Nice urls by using permalinks will look better in SE results, but don’t worry, your site will rapidly be crawled (see the thread about removing SE’s from your blog).
Not wanting to be paranoid, but if you upload images of your new addition, they too will be spidered and find their way into image search engines too.

WP rocks in search engines. As long as you are not blocked and are properly linked from some decent sources.

More search engine friendly ? Heck. You would not believe the rankings all WP users enjoy.

Is the Apache mod_rewrite functionality needed? If so, what is it and how do I install it?
