Driving me nuts: search is broken.

I’ve deactivated all plugins, set permalinks to default, tried the default theme, checked the search submit form code, upgraded to 2.9.2. There’s nothing in functions.php that effects search.

All I get is a chronological list of posts.

Search does work OK in admin when searching posts. WP is installed in /blog, but there’s nothing in the root .htaccess except for some 301 redirects, and no index.php, either.

    Ideas?….

Any custom queries in the theme? Did you try resetting the plugins folder. I’ve known of a couple of cases where an inactive plugin continued to cause problems.

Was the upgrade manual or automatic?

Arg. Many times it helps a great deal for someone else to ask a few questions rather than ask questions of myself all day long.

Yup, bad query string in search.php.

    Thanks, I owe you one….
