  • Resolved John Lyman

    (@jlyman)

    This question concerns my site’s search box. Well the search box that came installed with WordPress.

    For a while I’ve tried to fix it or tweak it so soliciting some suggestions.

    If I type John Lyman, myself, into the search box I only get the hit for my site’s Masthead. I’m the Editor-in-Chief of the site and I’ve written over a 150 articles so I would expect results for articles.

    The same for other author’s. Is there something perhaps wrong with the search box?

    Thank you in advance.

    John

  • There might be a plugin to replace the search box included with WordPress and I did install Relevanssi but so many options with it the plugin seems overly complicated. I also run into the problem when I configure and save it I get a fatal site error that is only fixed when I hit the back button.

    Problem with theme coding no page navigation is given in author or search result page.

    Thanks for the response.

    How would I be able to fix it?

    go to search.php and add <?php query_posts("$query_string . '&posts_per_page=-1'"); ?> before loop.

    The code should enable it when someone wants to search per author’s, posts and categories they’ll get some results?

    When you say loop you mean this part:

    <?php get_header(); ?>

    <!– Content Starts –>
    <div id=”content” class=”wrap”>
    <div class=”col-left”>
    <div id=”main”>

    use pastebin and link content here

    If you could expand on pastebin and link content that would be great.

    Not sure what you mean by that.

    Sorry for my confusion.
