Support » Plugin: Co-Authors Plus » Search Box does not retrieve any Results

  • Hi,

I have implemented the code into my index.php and single.php and authors are displayed. But when i try to add another author to a post via the search box, nothing happens. I have searched through the forums to find a solution, i thought it might be the phrase i search with. I tried first name, last name, username, email. Nothing works. I’m not sure if it is a bug or am i missing something?

    Thank you

    UPDATE

I have also tried changing the permissions on the users to Editor, Auhtor, Admin still nothing. I have tried creating and linking guest authors as well, no results. I have not edited the plugin at all just a straight install and added the template tags. Other plugins i have enabled are Akismet, Facebook and Hello Dolly. Any help would be very appreciated.

    UPDATE

I have ensured the user groups authors and editors have the edit_post and list_users permissions using the User Role Editor. I have also tried the steps on this post. I tried editing out the lines mentioned in that post but still no luck. I also have tried disabling all other plugins, no luck. Usually i would just try another plugin but this one seems to be the most up-to-date and have the most amount of support.

Someone please shed some light on my situation its driving me nuts.

I had this problem as well although everything worked initially. Darned plugin upgrades… I fixed with User Role editor, making sure my authors have the capabilities to publish posts, edit posts, and edit publish posts. Not all of those may be required but it worked for me.

I am using s2member to manage my users, so it was just a matter of modifying the s2member type capabilities rather than changing them for individuals.

    Good luck!

i tried using the s2member to edit the roles but now luck. Any other suggestions?

Edit your s2 member capabilities with User Role Editor as described in previous post.

    [RESOLVED]

hi, To get the search list to work.
Under Users in WordPress, click create profile, choose user role from screen and then should be visible in search for post or pages. Good Luck!
