    Hi Tobias,

    At the top of a table you can opt to edit the “search” box. It’s perfect on a PC but on a smartphone in portrait format only the last two letters of the word “search” (in French “recherch”er“) appear . This is hardly explicit for a new visitor. Is it possible either to reduce the length of the search box or put the word “search” inside this box ? Thank you.

    Regards,
    Bernard

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    I think I know what you mean, but to be sure, it would be good to take a look at the page with your table. Unfortunately, the link that you posted doesn’t seem to have a table (or other content) right now?

    Tobias

    Hi,

    Oups ! In fact this page is protected for a group of people. I will make it public until you respond and then protect it. So the link sent should work. Otherwise I can create a temporary member account for you but for this I need an email address to create this account. I try the first option.

    Hi,

    thanks! Now I can see the table and also the search box. However, in all phone sizes that I try (in a simulator), the word “Rechercher” is always fully visible. Can you maybe take a screenshot of what you are seeing (You can then upload it to a service like https://imgur.com/ and post the link here.)

    Now, regardless, you could instruct the browser to insert a line break on small screens here. For that, please add this to the “Custom CSS” textarea on the “Plugin Options” screen of TablePress:

    .dataTables_filter {
        white-space: normal;
    }

    Hi,

    coming back !
    For your information
    Before changing anything in the CSS this link https://imgur.com/KzIut6w is what I see on my smartphone.
    that one https://imgur.com/KzIut6w is what I see when simulating a smartphone with wordpress, only the two first letters of the word “Rechercher” are hidden.
    Do you still need the page concerned to be unprotected ?

    Changing the CSS code is a perfect solution, the word “Rechercher” is just above the search box and that’s fine.

    Many thanks, Tobias.

    Hi,

    interesting… For me, the search field is not that wide and therefore the word is fully visible.

    But if the CSS code works for you, everything is good here 🙂

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
