Hi, thanks for your plugin! 🙂

I have a problem… if the user searches for an event location with Event Manager search box, does not filter the locations entered with OpenStreetMaps.

    thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Sonia,
Thank you for using this plugin 🙂

Not exactly sure what you mean (my Italian is about as good as your Dutch, LOL).

The add-on uses the native EM code to save locations, it should work. Could you explain it a bit more, please?

    🙂

    example: user search event “Milano”

    Screen monitor

o with advanced search link monitor

but the result is always this page with all the events, all cities https://www.caviardage.it/events/

    thanks

What shortcodes are you using exactly?

The calendar is not part of the search and since your event list is below that, it looks like you are using a separate shortcode for that.

I really am sorry, but being in Italian I can not make out what the search result is. There is no clear way for me that indicates what the location is.. Aside from Milan and Rome, I do not know Italian cities 😉

Again, the only thing EM OSM does is take over displaying the map itself. All data is stored by EM. The search (and its result) is also 100% EM.
Is there any difference in the search result if you deactivate EM OSM?

Maybe my english is worst than your italian 😀

I try to explain well the flow and my expectation:

If the user wants to find an event in Milan ( or another city ), he make a search with “Milan”. My expectation is to retrieve results filtered for “Milan”.
If i try to do this flow the result of EM is the entire list of events not filtered for “Milan”.

Is it correct? this is what the plugin should do?

if yes it seems that EM doesn’t able to filter the results using the coordinates inserted in OSM ( “Milan” was correctly inserted in the system).
It seems that doesn’t work ( or doesn’t work because i did something wrong like configuration problem or i don’t know )

It is like if you wants to find the events in Amsterdam but the system retrieves results also for Rotterdam, Breda, etc…

    Thanks

    Hi Sonia,
I’ve been doing some testing, but I cannot replicate this issue…

What I can tell you, is that EM Search does not use coordinates, just the text fields. By default EM does not even fetch the coordinates from the EM_LOCATIONS_TABLE.

As I said, EM OSM lets EM save the form fields, untouched. So this seems to be something in EM. You could better repost your question there, asking why filtering by city fails.
