Search and replace plugin – only deletes the old url

Hi all

I have just moved from a dev folder to my root directory and i was doing a search and replace with the search and replace plugin to change urls of images in posts.

First i did a search to see the results which was fine – then i did a search and replace from: oldsite.com/wp-content/uploads…
to: newsite.com/wpo-content/uploads…

but all the plugin ended up doing was deleting the “oldsite.com/wp-content/uploads”.
so now all my paths to img’s are something like /11/imgtitle instead of newsite.com/wpo-content/uploads/11/imgtitle

Any idea as to why this is happening? And how i can change it around – im thinking i might have to go in manually in phpmyadmin now? but where?
