My favourite method is to use the SearchWP Modal Search Form for that.

Twenty Twenty theme has a nice search in the header; you can see how it’s done there and copy that.

Thanks, how do I set it up so that there can be a dropdown list of categories or posts in the search?

SearchWP Modal Search Form uses a template to create the form; you can add a category dropdown to the template. If you’re copying from Twenty Twenty, you can manually create the search form and have it the way you want.

For an example of what a category dropdown looks like, you can drop the shortcode [searchform dropdown="category"] to one of your posts and see what that search form looks like.

Astra is a premium product. I don’t know how it works, and I don’t provide support for other people’s premium products, only my own. Please ask Astra support.
