    Ok My page 2 text look ok but the home page has small blue ugly font. I am ready to change the style in my child to get what i want. I am ready for some <body> font info </body. I am using Fireworks and that inpection tool. F12

    Instead I get this:

    <body class = "page page-id-37 page template default blah blah
     single-author singular one-column content customize-support">
    <div id="page" class="hfeed">
    <header id="branding" role="banner">
    <div id="main">
    <div id="primary">
    <div id="content" role="main">
    <footer id="colophon" role="contentinfo">
    <script src="" type="text/javascript">
    <script src="" type="text/javascript">
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <div id="wpadminbar" class="nojq " role="navigation">

    (the first two lines would not copy.)
    No fonts, no colors, not even a <body>, just a </body>

    How do I get control of the fonts?

    It is very difficult to diagnose this type of problem without being able to view the site. If you post a link to your site, someone may be able to help you.

    Sorry, I am fooling around with moving the site from the root to a sub-directory. This is the site: ‘’
    Theme is child of twentyeleven,

    My postings is about the blue text at the bottom, With CSS there is a capability to replace the style in my child theme. But instead of a <body> tag I get a <body class tag…> and I don’t know how to specify the font, color and size.

    Also the css associated with the text is one of these:

    body {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #E2E2E2;
    } included link style.css (line 23)

    body, input, textarea {
        color: #373737;
        font: 300 15px/1.625 "Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
    }' included link style.css (line 317)

    body {
    padding: 0 2em;
    }` included link style.css (line 72)

    Thank you for your help.

    HI Frank,
    That text is being styled with inline CSS — which means it is in the HTML code — you are probably setting that when you are entering it? Or perhaps you copied it from someplace else? The HTML is this:

    <h3 style="text-align: center;">
    <span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;">
    <span style="color: #0000ff; font-size: xx-small;">The primary mission of St. Michael Special School is to provide students with special educational needs opportunities to develop their Catholic faith and to receive a high quality education including religious, academic, social, vocational and physical training.</span>

    You also should not be using h tags for non-heading text — it will mess up your SEO. Putting the above in p tags should solve the problem.

    I have found the enemy and it is me! I copied it using Dreamweaver and evidently brought the inline css along. I chnged h3 to p and deleted the font info.

    Thanks for the second time.

    I did take you advice about Firefox and the f12 inspection tool.
