Hi, I have Updraft Plus (unpaid) running on a site, set to weekly file back up and daily database backup – both to my Dropbox account.

They worked fine until now. My last database backup was August 19. This is the 21st. It skipped the 20th, I don’t know yet if it will backup today as it’s still early. However, skipping a day isn’t good for me, I have 4400 members on our non-profit website with new members daily, and I can’t risk losing them or the activity.

Do you know what went wrong? I did just upgrade the WordPress core files to the newest version (I keep up every new version). Could this have affected it?

    Hi Michael,

Did you have any success today?

UpdraftPlus uses WordPress’s built-in scheduler. i.e. It registers a task in the WP scheduler, and then/thus relies on WordPress to call back at the chosen time. This can fail for various reasons. Is nothing at all showing in the ‘Existing Backups’ tab? If nothing, then you can use a plugin like “WP Crontrol” to investigate the list of scheduled tasks in your WP scheduler, and see if any are being run.

It finally made a backup later on the 21st (yesterday) and it looks like it’s done one today. I’m not sure why it skipped the 20th. Thanks for checking back with me on this. I will install that WP Crontrol for future “glitches”.
