No, you do not need to check that option. Are you on the latest version of WP to Twitter?

    yes.

Hello, I seem to have the same problem. I think it was working before the last update.

I’m having the same problem. I think it’s been happening ever since updating to the latest version.

I am experiencing the same problem. My posts are not posting on Twitter. Has this issue been resolved as of yet?

I have not yet found any common thread. I cannot reproduce the problem myself, and don’t have enough data to track it in anyway. I know that it’s not a common problem, but I don’t know the cause.

If you could submit support requests, that would greatly help me try and track the reason for this.

Joe, thanks for your reply. I updated to the latest version of WP To Twitter and the next scheduled post for my site was sent out to my Twitter account but the next scheduled post did not post to my Twitter account. Will deactivating and reactivating the plugin work?

    Plugin Author Joe Dolson

    (@joedolson)

There is no reason that I can think of that a deactivation cycle would make any difference; but it can’t hurt, so go ahead and try it.

It would really be great if I could get some support requests – it would help me track what is common about these issues.

One question: are any of you using the Missed Schedule plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-missed-schedule/)?

Joe, there’s something related to the new WP APIs for posts. It’s only a guess, but I’m not using any plugin involving some fixing or filtering of the wp-cron default cronjob. This bug appears randomly: for two days posts are tweeted regularly, then nothing at all. And so on. As far as I can remember, your plugin (which works great IMHO) had similar problems some months ago with the option for tweeting modified posts. If you selected that option, then scheduled posts were tweeted. To sum up (in priority order):

    1. Some side effects of the new WP post APIs
    2. The option for tweeting modified posts
    3. Changes in the Twitter APIs (very unlikely)

If you need some further details of my installation, I can send you a more detailed e-mail by adding further info that are not included in the default support message. πŸ™‚

Joe, thanks for you reply. I am not using the Missed Schedule plugin. Do you recommend that I install it?

Gabriele, thanks for your post. I have a favor to ask. Would you be able to email me further details of my installation. It would be appreciated. Thanks.

You should send it to Joe, because I’m not the author of the plugin. Go to Settings -> WP To Twitter and choose the support request. Fill the textarea with your message. All the tech details will be automatically included in the outgoing message. πŸ™‚

Regarding the use of WP Missed Schedule – no, I do not recommend installing it. It’s a tool which is a frequent cause of missed Tweets: it’s used if your site is routinely missing scheduled posting, but it does not run the action that will trigger Tweeting, so posts published via that method won’t be Tweeted.

I’m confident that this doesn’t have to do with any change in the Twitter API; I also doubt that it’s the WP Post API, since I would expect that to have a wider-reaching effect: this is actually a fairly uncommon problem, as far as I can tell.

But, mostly, I need more data to be able to figure out what’s common about sites with this problem.

I’m having this problem as well. Most scheduled posts aren’t positing but some are. I’ve been using the plugin for a while and this is the first time I’ve had this problem.

The only change I can think of that I’ve made is installing the official Facebook app to post to Facebook. Not sure how one could affect the other but I can’t think of alterations I may have made to cause the issue.

I believe that I now have a solution for this problem. It’s being tested by a number of people who have contacted me about the problem, and hopefully I’ll be able to release it soon. I have one confirmation that it’s worked for somebody, but I need more than one demonstration before I’m willing to call this fixed…
