# Scheduled backups not executing

 * Hi,
 * I’m having an issue with setting up scheduled backups. They don’t execute at 
   all while instant backups are working properly. I already checked if the default
   cron is working like this: [https://backwpup.com/docs/my-backup-jobs-dont-seem-to-run-as-scheduled/](https://backwpup.com/docs/my-backup-jobs-dont-seem-to-run-as-scheduled/)
   and posts are published fine.
 * Then disabled the default wp_cron and added a manual cronjob on the server to
   run every 5 minutes calling wp-cron.php. Also that didn’t solve the issue.
 * As it’s not executing at all I don’t have any logs of these scheduled backup 
   attempts.
 * I can share you the debug info log in a private message.
 * Any help with this is much appreciated.

 * Since you already went through the basic troubleshooting steps and confirmed 
   that WP-Cron itself appears to be working correctly, this likely needs a deeper
   investigation specific to your setup.
 * Could you please reach out to us directly via the built-in **Contact Support**

   share the debug information and we can review this more closely from our side.

 * Hi, thanks for the reply. The support feature in the plugin starts an AI-chat
   which suggest me to use the contact form at [https://backwpup.com/support](https://backwpup.com/support)
   but that page returns a 404. And the same AI-chat on that page also suggests 
   me to go to [https://backwpup.com/support](https://backwpup.com/support) So that
   creates an infinite loop….
 * Already tried it with a different plugin, WPUpdraft, and these scheduled updates
   are working just fine.

 * I’m sorry about the experience and the confusion around the support flow.

 * Regarding the scheduled backups, if another backup plugin is working correctly
   on the same setup, then it would be good to narrow down what specifically is 
   preventing BackWPup scheduled jobs from running.
 * Could you please try these quick checks:
    - Create a fresh database-only backup job scheduled hourly and see if it executes
    - Install a plugin like WP Crontrol and verify whether BackWPup cron events 
      are being registered correctly
 * If the problem still continues, please try the support option once more so we
   can investigate this further with more details.
