# Scanning forever

 * Wordfence never gets past this point:
 * [Nov 10 14:18:06] Scan kill request received.
    [Nov 10 14:18:30] Contacting Wordfence
   to initiate scan [Nov 10 14:18:31] Including files that are outside the WordPress
   installation in the scan. [Nov 10 14:18:31] Getting plugin list from WordPress
 * I have tried everything you have suggested on the support pages including reinstalling
   the plugin.
 * I have experimented with memory size and timeout settings but no difference.
 * The only way to stop it is to kill it. And restarting doesn’t make a difference.
 * What can I do?

 * It looks like your server might not be able to contact the Wordfence scanning
   servers. Please try the connectivity tester which is a link at the bottom of 
   the Wordfence options page.
