[resolved] Scannin Site never stops (19 posts)

I have 174 150-300 word small posts. Even though I check "Skip Scanning" it still says Scanning Site (with checkbox checked) and it stays there forever. I even checked the debud in scanning and it shows nothing. It says PASS on the top when I first start it up.

I deactivated, uninstalled, reinstalled and still the same. :-(

    Hey VenturaVan,

If you can give the developer version a try it may have your fixes for the issue your seeing. The very latest version (0.5.3) can be found by following these instructions:

    -> Browse to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/duplicator/developers/
-> Look for the section "Other Versions"
-> Click on "Development Version" and download the zip plugin file
-> Uninstall your current version and install this one
-> Note: This is a development line version so please test in your sandbox first to make sure you have no issues...

Let me know if this solves your issue...

    Thanks

Exactly the same is happening to me, and sometimes the buttons don't work properly, the accordion display disappears, so I have to refresh my explorer to make them work. I tried with chrome, firefox and safari and it's the same in all them. I'm working in a local server and I have to upload my site to a web hosting. I've used this plug-on before and worked great.

    But yeah, scan never stops.

I downloaded the development version, and doesn't work

I realized that version 0.5.1 works fine in my other sites. But now i have the 0.5.3 version. I will try installing the 0.5.1 version and see if it works.

Neither the 0.5.1 version of duplicator works. This is the first site in which I use the 3.9.1 version of wordpress. I wonder if it's because of that.

Another thing to note is that the progress bar never appears during scanning.

    Hi Ives,

I would disable your plugins on that site and then try the process again. Most likely this is another plugin causing Javascript errors which will conflict with other plugins. Once you find the plugin causing the issue, you should email that plugin author to let them know their plugin is generating errors which is causing other plugins to not work. 99% of the time this is the case when you see behavior like you mentioned...

I uploaded my site manually, but I will try disabling plugins and If I found out, I will let you know what plugin was causing the problem.

    Thank you very much.

I had the same problem as Ives with 0.5.4

Same as FrenchGuru here. But even with version 0.5.2 I was getting Deploy errors on restore. I had to make my backups with mysqldump option ON.

Forgot to say that it was a new site with no pugins at all.

    Hey @pelchatd62,

If you happen to be using French as your main language, their was an issue with the translation file that caused an error on the scan portion. It has been fixed in the developer line. If you can give the developer version a try it may have your fixes for the issue your seeing. The very latest version (0.5.5) can be found by following these instructions:

    -> Browse to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/duplicator/developers/
-> Look for the section "Other Versions"
-> Click on "Development Version" and download the zip plugin file
-> Uninstall your current version and install this one
-> Note: This is a development line version so please test in your sandbox first to make sure you have no issues...

    Thanks

Yes I was using the French version of WordPress.

I installed your development version and the scanning part works now. I didn't try the restore part though but it must be OK.

    Thank you very much.

"Skip Scanning" problem too and it's ok with 0.5.5 ! Restoration works too. Great job.
You should add a flattr button on your site :)

I had the same problem - the SCANNING SITE message never cleared.
Taking the advise of deactiving some of the plugins, I went to my Plugin's management page and selected ALL the plugsin and hit DEACTIVATE. I then went back to the DUPLICATE plugin manager and it worked.

But here's when I noticed something very strange....

I went back to find out which plugin was causing the problem.
I re-actived a few plugin bit by bit at a time, then I went back to the Duplicate plugin to see whether or not it would still have problem scanning. Each batch of plugins still worked. After doing this about 15 times I realized that there weren't ANY plugins that had problems! They ALL were ACTIVED and working just fine.

I think just simply: #1) DEACTIVING all the plugins (except for Duplicate), then #2 go back to Duplicate and run a scan again (should work now) and then #3 going back to the plugin page to ACTIVATE everything again might just do the trick.

    Good luck and fingers crossed!
