I set All-In-One Security’s Scanner function up to notify me of changes to the site on a regular basis, but the list is overwhelmed with cache file changes. The obvious solution is simple – ignore the cache directory. However, I can’t figure out how to make that function work.
My cache is in /home/accountname/sitename/wp-content/cache/supercache/… (and its various subdirectories)
AIO Security reports that full pathname for each changed file, so I put that string in the field for files or folders to ignore. It doesn’t ignore it. I remove the trailing slash (“…/supercache” instead of “…/supercache/”). Same result.
What format is this plugin looking for? How do I make it ignore files and directories under “supercache”? The help bubble on that page not helpful, since the only example it gives is “somedirectory” – that doesn’t tell me anything about the required syntax, since it’s not just the full directory name.
Do I need to omit some of the base directory names (above the account name? above the site name?)? Do I need to explicitly omit every single subdirectory that the cache creates?
