Support » Plugin: All In One WP Security & Firewall » Scanner Files/Directories To Ignore – how to make it work?

  • Resolved eharris

I set All-In-One Security’s Scanner function up to notify me of changes to the site on a regular basis, but the list is overwhelmed with cache file changes. The obvious solution is simple – ignore the cache directory. However, I can’t figure out how to make that function work.

My cache is in /home/accountname/sitename/wp-content/cache/supercache/… (and its various subdirectories)

AIO Security reports that full pathname for each changed file, so I put that string in the field for files or folders to ignore. It doesn’t ignore it. I remove the trailing slash (“…/supercache” instead of “…/supercache/”). Same result.

What format is this plugin looking for? How do I make it ignore files and directories under “supercache”? The help bubble on that page not helpful, since the only example it gives is “somedirectory” – that doesn’t tell me anything about the required syntax, since it’s not just the full directory name.

Do I need to omit some of the base directory names (above the account name? above the site name?)? Do I need to explicitly omit every single subdirectory that the cache creates?

Hi, try entering only the actual directory without the slashes. For example supercache.

Let me know how you go.

    Thank you

mbrsolution – I think your suggestions has worked out, though I’ll need another day or two of change reports to be absolutely certain. Thank you! I’ll mark this resolved and re-open it only if necessary.

It never would have occurred to me to only include ONE LEVEL of the directory name in there. It might be helpful to note in the help popup for this feature that it’s a simple text match that it doesn’t support the “/” character.

Can the File Change Detection Results be removed after viewing?
