I like your software, and I subscribe to your firewall. You have a good product, but your security plugin scanner is failing to find threats. I had a website hacked, and then cleaned up. So I installed this plugin to help me keep track file changes and perform regular scans. 3 times the nav-menu.php file was changed (even though I had hardened the wp-includes folder). I ran several scans, but nothing. So I decided to run another scanner, from another company. The scanner found legit backdoor scripts that had infected several plugins in the plugins folder.

I had considered signing up for your Antivirus service, but now I am not so sure.

    Hi Dan,

Yes, the plugin will not scan for malware or alert if malware is found on any of your files. It partially ties to our external scanner, but the real goal of it is to act as an audit trail, where you can track your site logins, logouts and internal WordPress activities.

So it will not find backdoors at all. As you mentioned, that is done by our Antivirus product that actually does a full scan and a complete cleanup of your site. I recommend trying it out to see the difference (or I can get you a full refund if we don’t 🙂 ).

    thanks!
