Hello panster,
what is your PHP version? You can check this on the Wordfence “Diagnostics” page. You also might want to check your servers error logs to see if you can find any clues there. These error logs are usually available via your web hosts administration panel.
Another thing to try is to keep a browser console open as you try to start the scan. This will alert you to any javascript or network errors that may be happening.
Let me know if you find any clues as to what may be happening.
Thank you for getting back to me wfasa,
The PHP version is 5.5.36. The servers error logs is clean from anything suspicious, this was also checked and confirmed by my hosting provider.
I have also just tried your recommendation with the browser console and did not receive any alerts when I started the scan.
What would you recommend?
Hello again panster,
if the scan doesn’t start at all, in other words nothing at all happens when you press the button, it is almost always due to some javascript error or something that failed to load completely on the page.
Something else you can try is to temporarily disable all other plugins and swap to a default theme just to see if the scans start when you do that. If they do, you know the problem is a conflict with some other plugin or theme.
Hi Wfasa,
I did exactly as you recommended and switched to Twenty Sixteen theme.
Unfortunately, the scan did not start again.
panster, is wp-cron.php working on your site? Are you able to browse to the file yourdomain.com/wp-cron.php?
Sorry, wrong topic I responded to.
Hi wfasa,
Thank you for the reply.
I just checked your recommendation (yourdomain.com/wp-cron.php) brings up a blank page.
I also checked (yourdomain.com/wp-cron.php?) this bring up a message stating that The plugin is at the latest version.
Hello panster,
just checking in here to see if you ever got this issue solved. If not, let me know and we’ll give it another shot.
Thats very kind of you wfasa!
Yes it has, the problem was that it was on a localhost. As soon as I redirected the DNS to point to the server it started instantly.
