 * I did a scan thru my Wordfence security plugin today, and shows that there have
   been modified files to the Jetpack plugin, However, when I look into the details,
   this is what it reads. `This file belongs to plugin “Jetpack” version “10.4”
   and has been modified from the file that is distributed by WordPress.org for
   this version.
 * Do an install again. Normally they you to upgrade plugin and so it can save the
   changes.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fscan-shows-modified-files%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hi there
 * I’m not quite sure what you mean here.
 * Are you saying that even after reinstalling the Jetpack plugin, you still get
   a warning from Wordfence saying Jetpack plugin files have been changed?

 * Hey Dan,
 * Thanks for the quick response. The plugin Jetpack is installed with the latest
   version. However, I did a scecurity scan with Wordfence, and this was the message:
 * `This file belongs to plugin "Plugin Name" version "X.X.X" and has been modified
   from the file that is distributed by WordPress.org for this version. Please use
   the link to see how the file has changed. If you have modified this file yourself,
   you can safely ignore this warning. If you see a lot of changed files in a plugin
   that have been made by the author, then try uninstalling and reinstalling the
   plugin to force an upgrade. Doing this is a workaround for plugin authors who
   don't manage their code correctly.`
 * Do reinstall as it says? I went to my updates and everything is updates correctly.
   Don’t know.

 * Hi [@teresacuervo](https://wordpress.org/support/users/teresacuervo/)
 * I am not sure if this is the exact message you are getting or if it mentions
   Jetpack specifically. Either way, I’d suggest reinstalling Jetpack as shown on
   our guide:
 * [https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/](https://jetpack.com/support/reconnecting-reinstalling-jetpack/)
 * I’d also suggest reaching out to Wordfence for more information about that if
   a full reinstall doesn’t work.
 * Best,
