Scan initiated but only lasts for 5 seconds!

Ok, I am a accomplished webmaster and programmer and I am the only one that touches my server and I do all of my own security primarily through .htaccess but I have decided to try wordfence due to it’s IP Logging abilities for site visitors.
Now, I do realize that there is no malware or anything else wrong from a security stand point on my server but, shouldn’t a scan when I initiate it last more than 5 seconds? YES, IT ACTUALLY LASTS ONLY 5 SECONDS!
Not only does the scan last but a brief 5 seconds but there is also nothing generated in the Scan Summary or the Scan detailed activity area either. this I do not find hard to believe seeing how very brief the scan lasts for!
Anyone have any insight into this anomaly?
I have referenced this article and others and checked what has been suggested as possibilities however, none of these instances which the documentation suggests actually apply to my situation! https://support.wordfence.com/support/solutions/articles/1000010338-my-scans-are-not-starting-what-should-i-do-

EDIT: I have found the culprit! Apparently due to the fact that I have a .htaccess file in my WP-ADMIN folder which allows only my IP ADDRESS for security reasons, it prevents the WORDFENCE scanner from running! I know that there is a server IP Range of 69.46.36.0 to 69.46.36.32. but…when I add the additional Allow line allow from 69.46.36.0/32 it still doesn’t want to scan. when I remove the .htaccess from wp-admin entirely the scanner works like a champ
