# Scan hangs

 * Every time I run a scan, it just hangs…the scan summary is stuck with these two
   lines:
 * [Oct 14 07:38:52]
    Scanning file contents for infections and vulnerabilities
 * [Oct 14 07:38:52]
    Scanning files for URLs in Google’s Safe Browsing List
 * The scan detailed activity seems stuck at various levels of the additional file
   scan section, but most recently here:
 * [Oct 14 07:39:18] Scanned contents of 382 additional files at 14.46 per second
 * The diagnostics page seems to show everything is ok. Please let me know how to
   proceed.

 * I am having the same issue with one of my sites, they are both is the same hosting
   service, so, it seems weird but wordfence blocks at the same position that is
   here reported in one of the sites and does’n finish the scan. What could cause
   this? thanks

 * Hi ternion,
    Please turn on “[Enable debugging mode](https://docs.wordfence.com/en/Wordfence_options#Enable_debugging_mode_.28increases_database_load.29)”
   option -temporarily- under (Wordfence > Diagnostics) and run a new scan after
   that, keep watching for any error message that might appear in the activity log.
   Also, take a look at these [common reasons that may cause scan not to finish](https://docs.wordfence.com/en/My_scans_don't_finish._What_would_cause_that%3F).

 * I wish to thank you for the help. It’s stupid but it didn’t occur to me to go
   to the plugin’s page to see if this was considered there. The first solution 
   that is on « common reasons that may cause scan not to finish», did work: I did
   change the maxim time for execution on each scan stage=15. My site was scanned
   again, since several days. The scan is slower but gets the job done. Next time
   I will go check the plugin’s page before coming here. It’s so simple to think
   that something must be wrong with the plugin that we miss other simple causes!
