    Hi,

Scan fails to start with the message saying :

    Scan Failed :
The scan has failed to start. This is often because the site either cannot make outbound requests or is blocked from connecting to itself.

    Any ideas, please?

    Hi @wfgerald
Wow, that was quick, thank you!

Okay, yes, I did do all that prior to my writing.

if you have ANYDESK I’m happy to let you take a look?

    Regards

    Hey @rik0399,

Is this a consistent issue? Were you ever able to complete scans?

If it is consistent, can you send me a Diagnostics report so I can get a better overview of your environment? Please navigate to Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics. Here you can select SEND REPORT BY EMAIL. Please include your WordPress.org username and update this thread after you’ve sent it.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Thank you > DONE!

I have the exact same error. Scans had always run fine until the latest wordfence plugin update.

Now I get “Scan Failed :
The scan has failed to start. This is often because the site either cannot make outbound requests or is blocked from connecting to itself.”

    Any helps would be appreciated.

    Hey @rik0399,

Thanks for sending over the Diagnostic report.

I don’t see anything glaring. I did notice you’re using the iQ Block Country plugin. Are you by chance blocking the US? If so, can you disable that and let me know if it helps?

If that doesn’t help can you please try disabling all other plugins?

Please let me know what you find.

@thinkel6 – Can you please start a new thread? I know the error is the same, but the reason for it is likely going to be different.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    Hi @wfgerald,

Thank you, that did it! 🙂

Does WF not have a country blocker built-in so I can uninstall the other plugin?

    Regards

    Hey @rik0399,

Thanks for the update, and happy to hear that did the trick.

The Premium version does have a country blocking feature. If you’d like more information about this please contact presales@wordfence.com as discussions of Premium plugin features aren’t allowed on the WordPress.org forums.

    Thanks!

    Gerroald
