This is in violation of WP policy for plugins listed in the directory

    Can you clarify that please?

I’ve not installed the plugin yet, but are you saying that this plugin is functionally disabled and can’t be used?

Yes! This plugin is essentially disabled in it’s current state.

It’s a twitter widget, yet you can’t even add your username since all settings are disabled. So how exactly the ‘developer’ can claim this plugin works is beyond me.

    Let’s see.

    *Installs plugin*

OK the admin page is way over the top.

    https://my-site-url-here/wp-admin/admin.php?page=custom-twitter#tabs1-Gsettings

4 tabs and I can’t set anything. That’s not even useful, but it is a rather blatant attempt to get purchases. It doesn’t even have some settings as usable as a teaser.

Having an incomplete settings page is usually enough for me to delete the plugin. That’s just not attractive to me. There are better ways to entice me to purchase a plugin. But this? This is… really distasteful. The settings page does not even pretend to be useful for regular users.

    *Looks at widget*

The widget works but I’m not sure why anyone would install your plugin for just a generic Twitter widget. There’s no value add in using your plugin from the WordPress repo here.

While I do think your settings page is gauche, I don’t have any say if it violates the plugin guidelines. I’ll email the plugins team and ask them.
