    @randomuser909,
    Not sure how requiring a purchase for premium features makes the plugin a scam. I clearly state in the description that the one-click restore is a premium feature. It’s at the top of the description in bold.

    Additionally, I spent a few days writing a blog post that provides step by step instructions on how to restore your site yourself if you don’t want to purchase the premium plugin.

    The free plugin takes hundreds of hours every year for us to improve and update to support all the latest versions of WordPress. Plus we provide free support to anyone using the community edition (free) plugin so if they have trouble with the manual restore then we will help.

    I don’t mind one-star reviews if you truly feel the plugin doesn’t provide value but these types of reviews seem very unfair. I understand that you don’t want to pay for the premium features, many people don’t. Which is why I wrote the blog post. But to say we are somehow scamming people or that the plugin is ransomware, thats just not true and is likely why you created a fake profile to post your review.

    @cssimmon Please don’t report this as needing a moderator. You’re right, it’s not a nice review, but this is how someone feels, finding out they have to pay for a restore. Fairness is a subjective claim. He feels it’s unfair to only offer a backup for free, you feel it’s unfair to expect everything for free.

    Who’s right and who’s wrong? No one. It’s just a perspective thing.

    Please keep replying as you have been: reasonably, politely, and kindly.

    I have to say that the support on this plug-in is second to none even for those using the free version. I wouldn’t expect a plug-in with all the bells and whistles for free, that would be unreasonable.

    Thanks @chrisbeds Appreciate the comment.

    Thanks @ipstenu. Normally I don’t let these type reviews bother me but adding ransomware and scam to describe my plugin seemed over the line. Appreciate you taking the time to review.

    Normally I’d agree it was pretty specious at best, but considering the complaint, I think all reasonable people would read that as “I’m mad that someone’s making me pay for a feature.”

    Also it’s good for you to review “Gee, why would someone look at my plugin and think it’s a scam? Is something unclear in my readme that confused them?”

    The name is “Backup AND RESTORE” but you only mention the “one click restore” in the pro section. Why not tell people “Manual restore” is available in the free version?

    @ipstenu ok, that makes sense. I will make those updates to the readme.
