# “Saving Failed” in theme editor.

 * I just installed a brand new WordPress 5.9.2 in a NameCheap shared hosting package,
   using Softaculous. While installing it, I chose the basic “twentyTwentyTwo” theme
   with the bird on it. This is a brand-new, unadulterated, unmolested installation
   of 5.9.2.
 * When I first logged in as admin, I went to edit the default “Hello World” post
   but couldn’t save. I searched for a while and finally gave up on the default
   editor and installed the classic editor. I really wanted to use the new default
   block editor but oh well; I’d rather be able to actually edit so no big deal,
   but the first thing I wanted to do is **Fail number 1**.
 * The second thing I tried to do was to update the header image on the theme. I
   edited a new image and then went to “Appearance | Editor” in the admin panel.
   I clicked on the image, chose to replace it, uploaded the new image and clicked[
   Save] and [Save], and I get an pink error bar that simply says, “Saving Failed”.
   The second thing I tried to do (apart from installing a plugin to fix the first
   failure) was to edit one image on the theme, and that immediately fails too. **
   Fail number 2**.
 * So far I am 0 for 2 with WordPress. What the hell man!?!? I have now stopped
   trying to use WordPress until I can get it to function properly. I no longer
   trust it.
 * Most of my client’s sites are on Joomla, and I’m trying out WordPress for the
   first time. I expect basic functionality to work after a simple install. I’m
   not yet into the guts of the application as I cannot get simple functionality
   to work out of the box.
 * NOT IMPRESSED!!!
 * I know this just sounds like a complaint – and it is – but what I really want
   to know is HOW DO I MAKE WORDPRESS FUNCTION OUT OF THE GATE?!?!?

 * **Update: **
    The theme is installed as “TwentyTwoTwo” but is called “The Hatchery”
   in the theme list.
 * Also, the issues seem to happen only when I have a multi-site installtion. If
   I have WordPress installed as a single site, then it works fine.
