# Save URL for image insertion

 * It would be very helpful for me if the image-url (**Add media file from URL**)
   could be saved.
 * Generally I upload my pictures via FTP to “[http://my_domain/wp-content/uploads/…&#8221](http://my_domain/wp-content/uploads/…&#8221);
 * After that I always have to write the whole URL, when I insert the picture in
   a post.
 * I would like to be able to save the first, unchanging part: **[http://my_domain/wp-content/uploads/](http://my_domain/wp-content/uploads/)**

 * Just for information:
 * My uploaded pictures do not appear in the WP media library when I upload them
   e.g. to “wp-content/uploads/2010”
 * (I put all pictures for one year in one folder.)
 * A friend of mine just moved to Posterous because he thinks that it is easier 
   there to blog…
