# Save Draft Button Disapprearing

 * I’ve seen a few other people have issues with their Save Draft buttons disappearing
   and I’m having the same problem. I’ve read and tried the solutions offered (clearing
   cache, clicking and un-clicking the 1 vs 2 column layout buttons) and it hasn’t
   fixed it. All of the buttons are there on a new post, but if I publish and edit
   a post, I can’t save the draft because the Save Draft button is missing.
 * I’m using 3.0 and Firefox is my browser. This was actually an issue before I 
   upgraded to 3.0 (I thought upgrading would fix it).
 * I’d appreciate any solutions that you could suggest.

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a **fresh** download
   of WordPress?
 * – increasing the available memory?

 * Hi Esmi, Thank you for your recommendations. I tried each of them in turn and
   nothing brings back the Save Draft button.
 * When I got to your last suggestion, here is what I did. I tried activating the
   plug-in on the post you linked to. I then de-activated all other plug-ins and
   did an automatic re-install of 3.0. That didn’t work so I also tried adding an.
   htaccess file with the command line suggested. (I put the .htaccess file in my
   main http folder.)
 * I’m still at a loss. Do you have any other recommendations?

 * Hmmmm, yes. I suppose it’s mostly the pages I’m worried about. They’re behaving
   the same way and I’d like to be able to make edits on the pages and save them
   before updating them live on the website. I used to be able to do that on both
   posts and pages before…
 * Based on your previous post I’m thinking that’s a no-no now?

 * Did you figure out how to resolve this? I am having the same issue with my “Save
   Draft” button as it is no longer there for existing pages when I am trying to
   make edits. I can only save and publish.

 * I’m having the same issue. Thought I was loosing my mind when I couldn’t find
   the “save” button the Codex kept referring to.
