# Save Additional PayPal Meta Data

 * When using PayPal Standard for payment, it seems that only the payment type, 
   transaction id and PayPal status get saved with the order through the IPN handler.
   Is there any way to save additional fields from the IPN such as payer name and
   payer email address?

 * Thank you but that does not help as we are not using the PayPal Checkout Gateway.
   We are using the PayPal standard payment method because the checkout gateway 
   and the new PayPal payments do not work for us.
 * I know I could add additional clauses to `protected function save_paypal_meta_data(
   $order, $posted )` but obviously, that would be an absolute last resort as I 
   would have to redo it with every update.

 * Oh I see! Well, at the moment, there’s no default option for that in WooCommerce,
   and setting that as the default would require quite a bit of additional coding.
   Please kindly note that this requires some custom coding – which goes beyond 
   the scope of support we are able to provide in this forum.
 * However, I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime
   in to help you out.
