• This plugin is a bit rough around the edges, but it technically gets the job done.

    Flaws:

    • It insinuates its Settings UI as an obnoxious entry on the dashboard as a peer to the “Users”, “Tools”, and “Plugins” elements, rather than tucking itself politely away as a sub-menu to Settings (like e.g., Very Simple Meta Descripton). And it doesn’t even attempt to integrate with the UI, either- it sticks out like a sore thumb
    • Leaves the message You can change your profile picture on Gravatar intact, even while a custom avatar is selected; this is incorrect and potentially confusing.
    • It placed an advertisement on my dashboard, for one of those awful “email marketing” tools that makes the Internet a worse place.

Other than that, it gets the job done. In fact, it lets you choose among Gravatar’s deterministically-generated md5-based avatar types for unregistered users, which is pretty fun!
