Support » Fixing WordPress » Satoshi Theme – how to add background image

  • Hi,

    I’m working with the Satoshi Theme:

    I would like to change the background to a repeating image.

    In the style.css file I updated the row:
    body { font-family: arial, sans-serif; background: url(images/main-bg.png) repeat-x; color: #555; }

    To use my image however it never took effect. I also changed the colour and that did not show either.

    My CSS is very weak so if someone can point out what I’m doing wrong I would appreciate it.

  • The css for the background image should work provided the path ‘images/main-bg.png’ is valid. What is the size of the background image in pixels.

    ‘color: #555’ will change the color of the text.

    Background images and colors can be easily changed if your theme supports custom backgrounds using ‘add_custom_background()’

    Ah ha! It was a typo. Thank you for making me second guess myself and pay attention to the filename. My new one was ‘jpg’.

    Thanks again!
