  • I know this is not the latest version but we should have an option to manually enter an IP or something to make it work, actually I get :

Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.

Thanks for the feedback! Is sandstorm the name of your site, or your hosting provider? Do you experience issues connecting a specific site to your WordPress.com account? If so, could you let me know your site URL so I can take a closer look?

They appear to be completely blocking the XML-RPC file, which Jetpack and other apps use to communicate with your site. I’m afraid you won’t be able to use any of the Jetpack features that rely on the WordPress.com cloud. You could, however, enable Jetpack’s Development mode to use the few features that do not rely on communication with a third-party provider.

On the long term, and if you want to use Jetpack or other services relying on XML-RPC (like the mobile apps for example), I would recommend that you look for a different hosting provider.

Yep, you confirm what I thought.
Too bad, it seems promising to breed an open source business suite including WordPress & Jetpack. I’ll try on their side 🙂

Thanks for the Dev mode trick, I’ll miss Publicize though.
