[San Kloud] Adding widget in footer, making menu one-line, and more

  • Okay, so I will admit that I am a n00b to this whole coding thing. I understand that if you want to make changes in the editor, it’s best to make a child theme.

    Would you have to copy and paste all of the original code from the parent theme AND THEN add your changes? I read the codex but I think I just got confused.

    Mostly I just want to add a widget to the footer area, make my menu fit on one line, change my category template to where it will preview the image in the post as well, change the […] to [read more], and modify the category text.

    I really like the visual aspect of the San Kloud theme, it fits with the look of what I’m going for, I just need help! 🙁
