# Safely change WordPress URL?

 * I’m managing a WordPress site that I do not have CPanel access to. The web admin
   installed it to [http://domain.com/Site](http://domain.com/Site) (note the capital
   letter). I want to change it from that to [http://domain.com/site](http://domain.com/site).
   Is this possible from within the WordPress Admin Dashboard?
 * I haven’t messed with the WordPress Address URL/Site Address URL settings for
   fear of not being able to get back into the Dashboard if something goes wrong.
 * Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

 * Thanks for the reply. That article explains how to change the URL by editing 
   the files/database directly. Does that mean that one would only have to do that
   if something went wrong? If so, then changing the URL is as simple as changing
   Settings>General>Site Address (URL), correct?
 * Again, I have no way of getting into the WordPress files if something were to
   go wrong.

 * I couldn’t really find what I needed there. I did find this though:

 * It says to copy and edit several files. However, since I am only going from [http://domain.com/Site](http://domain.com/Site)
   to [http://domain.com/site](http://domain.com/site) do I need to do that? If 
   so, then I guess I’m out of luck since I don’t have file access.

 * If you don’t have administrator access you might be out of luck I’m afraid.
