Safari Zoom Feature Breaks up my Nav Bar

  • Hello.

I am building a site for a friend of my bosses (see here). My problem is that when you Zoom Out (using Cmd -) the Nav Menu at the top gets broken into two lines. I can’t seem to find any specific information on how to keep this from happening. It doesn’t happen in FireFox.

Is there a CSS attribute that I am not using or am using incorrectly? Is there a way to disable the Zoom Feature in the code? I just don’t know what to do or what I’m looking for really.

    Thank you in advance.

    Colin

  • This doesn’t happen with Safari 4 on Windows. Weird.

That is weird. I’m working on Mac.

I checked on Chrome and it IS doing it there.

    Anyone?

Blerg. It’s doing it to my Copyright at the bottom too!

It’s gotta be how the Mac rendering is working. You shouldn’t disable zoom, FWIW, or people like my gran would hate you 😉

My only thought is that there’s some css-ness that’s mac specific.

I’ve never heard of Mac Specific CSS.

I just don’t get it. I honestly don’t care about this, who the hell zooms out that far anyways?, but of course it’s not my decision.

    Please. Need to fix this.

For anyone who runs into this problem. Try validating your HTML. I did this and found a bunch of small problems that I believe were messing up my nav bar.

Of course now safari is doing something else stupid. But I might have fixed that too.

    blerg.
