Support » Plugin: Floating Social Media Links » Safari is a Grumpy Gus

As a heads up, I handle wedding photography, not coding so anything I attempt has to be in layman’s terms. The issue I’ve found when running this plugin is that, if you use an iPad, iPhone, iAnything, the plugin stretches the screen out so far that it shrinks the whole booger down to nothingness. My site; has a facebook ‘like’ bar up top, as well as a slideshow mechanism, whose theme was provided by elegant themes. I wish I knew what information to give you all, but if there is anything I can do to fix this, please let me know.

Thank you SO much for your time,

Hello, it looks like you’re using Floating Social Media Icon, not Floating Social Media Links (my plugin/this support forum). However, it looks like that plugin is creating horizontal scrollbar issues even just in desktop Chrome.

My plugin uses CSS for the “floating” rather than javascript (that’s the technical explanation), which is faster and more reliable, and is hidden on small screens (phones, etc.) by default, because otherwise they block your content.

Since both plugins have the same functionality, you might try floating social media links and if you’re okay with the format (which is slightly different, but very customizable). There’s virtually no way that that bug could happen with the techniques used here, even if it’s related to your other site components (theme, slideshows, etc.).

    Hello cello,

I am going to try floating social media links, as I’ve stated, I’m merely a photography guru, so I just need something that works. Thank you GREATLY for your quick response, and now it’s on to something new!

    Thank you again,
