Well – this is a thing that is bugging me quite a long time – but now due to invoicing and VATMOSS it’s implications are even more annoying.
Even though my server has never missed an IPN – sometimes s2member just loses them! How often – well 2-5 IPNs per 1000. (I could find the IPN in my paypal IPN server log – but s2member never reacted to them)
Now that is not a lot, but it really should be 0. It causes unhappy customers, paypal complaints, and if you don’t find out incorrect VAT amounts…
Is there no way s2member could be reconfigured to like double check it’s receival notices for paypal IPN – that they were correctly processed?
E.g. 1 month ago the Paypal IPN security change that had Paypal believe that IPN was received, while s2member did not process it correctly. It does not matter much if an IPN is not received – Paypal will send it again. But confirming receival and not processing it causes huge headaches.
(Stripe IPN I never had any problems so far at all – but for me Paypal is a must, and Stripe only additional).
