Running WordPress with MS SQL Server 2008 with windows authentication (5 posts)

We want to install WordPress with Windows Server 2008 R2, IIS 7.5, MS SQL SQL 2008 R2.

We do not want to use SQL login to connect to SQL Server database. So we want to use windows authentication based connection, meaning we would grant access to IIS application pool identity account in SQL Server database for WordPress and expecting during call from WordPress application to database, it would take identity of application pool account to access database.

Is that possible? Supported by WordPress? During installation of WordPress, we need to mention database name, username, password etc, so was wondering if there is any resolution/workaround?

    Help appreciated.

Oh, I'm sorry I thought it was for MS SQL because I was researching if it was possible. I am sure that I did come across a couple of articles on the Microsoft site about this. I've worked in corporate IT departments and I know sometimes they want things done a certain way.

Hopefully someone else can assist with this issue :)
