# Running Very Slowly

 * Hi Everyone,
 * I have the latest version of WP. It’s running very very slowly. I deleted a bunch
   of spam comments. That seemed to speed things up a little bit but not too much.
   What are someways to speed up my WP?

 * Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the plugin but when I activated it, it proceeded
   to mess up all of my URLS. I deactivated it and everything seems to be fine but
   how would I configure the plugin to not screw up my SEO friendly URLS? What would
   I have to do?

 * I’m getting a few errors in my settings.
 * It appears Page Cache URL rewriting is not working. If using apache, verify that
   the server configuration allows .htaccess or if using nginx verify all configuration
   files are included in the configuration.

 * If you WordPress is slow it can be for several different and unrelated reasons
   none of which are WP in origin.
 * 1. Your server may be overloaded.
    2. There may be a virus or spyware on your
   computer that is slowing things down – check if your WP blog is slow from some
   other computer. 3. You may have to many very large pictures on each page which
   take time to transmit across the internet. Or your pictures are large but display
   as small eg 4000×3000 pixel displayed as 400×300. In this case resize your picture
   to 400×300 then upload into your blog. 4. Please read my article, I have many
