• HELP!
I am bolting from Movable Type because any company that decides to pull the rug out from under them without any notice is doomed. I don’t mind paying for software, but I really don’t like it when the attitude of the people who make it is flaky…sure, we all make mistakes, but really – this one has been a doozy.
    Anyway, here is my question:
I run my website using MT but I also use MT as my template editor. For example, each part of my website, be it HTML file or CSS file is added as a “blog”. Sure, MT wasn’t really meant to be run like that, but I like to have more control from where ever I might happen to connect to the net. (of course, I am open to suggestions on how I should run a site)
Anyway, any input into my selection of a new Blog/CMS setup would be good. I think WordPress looks fab, but I just don’t want to have to change again later on. Does that make sense?

    and last, but not least,
I am fanatical about WP, and so are a lot more of us! This shop ain’t closing down anytime soon. WP will remain free.

    shanebee,
Didn’t you see the Template editor in the admin screens? As long as you set the proper file permissions, you’ll be able to edit your site’s files from within WordPress.

I just finished the installation, so, I am just looking around and getting a feel of where things are.
I also am curious about multiple “sites”. Would I have to install multiple installations of WordPress to accomplish several different websites that reside in different directories?

Yes, shanebee, multiple installs, each with a different db prefix in wp-config.php
