We’re sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the Yoast SEO plugin. Our plugin should help your website get indexed by search engines more easily. Apart from outputting the necessary meta tags and schema markup in the source code of your pages, it creates an XML sitemap you can submit to search engines: https://yoast.com/how-to-index-new-wordpress-site/
If your site couldn’t be indexed when Yoast SEO was active, it may be that the Show in search results option was set to “No” for some of your content types which is not the default behavior.
