Support » Theme: GeneratePress » RTL and LTR Issue

  • Hey there 🙂
    thank you for this theme! Amazingly done.

    I have an issue, I’m running an LTR language website “Arabic” and I’m using elementor thou…
    The problem is some of the functions in elementor addons don’t work with RTL language for some reason…
    My QUESTION is, how I can disable the RTL and keep the site running with “Arabic” support language without flipping the whole site from RTL to LTR.

    Explaining more,
    I want the site to be Arabic and running the Arabic translate from the WordPress language settings but without using the RTL CSS.
    For now: My General Settings in WordPress >> Site Language: Arabic.
    What I want: Disable the LTR in the whole Theme & Elementor.

    Kind Regards

    Here are solutions I’ve found, worked but I’m not sure yet if this will implement to the whole them, Pls advice:
    Is this a soltuoin? adding this code to the theme CSS:

    html {
    direction:ltr !important;
    }
    Or
    body{
    direction: ltr;
    }

    thx

    Hi there,

    This doesn’t sound like a theme-related issue.

    Have you checked with Elementor’s support team?

    Well! it is!
    I’ve disabled the elementor…etc
    let me explain again,
    I want to use ur theme in the Arabic language but without changing the layout from LTR to RTL…
    And if I install WPML to translate, the theme will do that! switch to LTR if the lang Arabic or herbrew.
    And another example,
    If I set the wordpress setting with site language to Arabic, the theme Will switch the layout to RTL! since this theme support and is compatible with RTL.

    My only question is?
    How I keep the theme in LTR layout even if I used elementor or translation plugin, Or even set the WordPress site language Arabic or Hebrew!

    Regards

    Hmm I’m not sure if this is possible unfortunately.

    WordPress automatically sets RTL/LTR based on your language setting.

    Can you test if the same thing happens when using a Twenty series WP theme?

    If so then you can try checking with WordPress support team to see if there is a workaround – the same method would work with GP.
