# RSS Validation

 * Hi,
    I’m trying to validate my RSS feeds from my site. I get this error message:
   Your feed appears to be encoded as “utf-8”, but your server is reporting “US-
   ASCII” Can somebody explain that in plain English for me? I read the help page
   but I’m not sure how to control my server’s charset declaration. Page in question

 * Beel,
    Thank you for the link. I have tried to alter my htaccess but to no avail.
   I have a support ticket to my host open as I type. I’m unclear why my other feeds
   all validate (atom, commetsrss2 and rdf) but not rss and rss2. Have other users
   had problems. TIA Phillip

 * I have an issue with validation of the RSS feeds. They were working yesterday,
   but not today? I’m using the validator and it says the following?
    This feed 
   does not validate.
 * line 28, column 2: Undefined item element: wfw:commentRSS [help]
 * Here is line 28
    <wfw:commentRSS>[http://faa.appstate.edu/wordpress/?feed=rss2&p=15</wfw:commentRSS&gt](http://faa.appstate.edu/wordpress/?feed=rss2&p=15</wfw:commentRSS&gt);

 * Although I get an error when validating the RSS at feedvalidator – it seems to
   work fine in feedreader – the feeds are updating there fine. Anyone else getting
   error line 28 with RSS validation – I searched the forums but have not found 
   this yet.
