Good morning! Reallllllly hoping somebody's come up against this one/has a fix. I checked the other posts archived to see if there was a solution, but nothing hit the mark.

New install of WP on our own server (just re-installed this morning again from scratch to be sure), two podcasting plugins with entries and a test post, default 2014 template with zero revisions.

But when you go to access the feed link provided, an error pops up when trying to access it that says "no associated application could be found".

Deactivated the plugins, tried to access the feed again, same result. With the podcasting plugins deactivated there was only one test post available for the feed to pull, but still nothing.

Ran the feed URL through the W3C validator, which said the document was successfully checked as well-formed XML.

Seriously stumped, and of course this is one of the projects that a client needs running ASAP. Help?

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files - from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Yep to all of them. I've been working w/ WP for the better part of 10yrs and pretty sure I've never run up against this problem before, it's the most frustrating thing to wake up to.

Can we see the site using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

With the plugins deactivated there's only that test post (instead of all of the ones under the podcast plugin), but you get the idea.

Odd, still experiencing difficulty -- tried submitting the feed to ITunes as-is to test it, and they still kicked it back with "We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad http result code: 404".

I also still get "no associated application could be found" when trying to access the feed via my reader.

Tested it via feedreader.com and tried to add the feed URL, which kicked back "No feeds were found for this URL".
